September 10, 2024 - Our very first undergraduate research assistant has joined the team. Welcome aboard, Aidan! Aidan will be exploring the effect of prenatal exposure to PM2.5 on DNA methylation patterns during early childhood.

  • September 11, 2024 - We would like to extend a warm welcome to Dr. Donald E. Warden. Dr. Warden brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in biostatistics and epidemiology. Dr. Warden will be a key player in epidemiological studies that seek to understand the impact of environmental exposures in early life periods on childhood allergic diseases.

  • September 26, 2024 - Another undergraduate research assistant has joined the lab. Welcome, Destini! Destini will be investigating the linkage between acute exposures to PM2.5 and O3 and asthma prevalence in the Corpus Christi region.

  • October 8, 2024 - The Melaram is excited to share its latest publication ‘Pollen exposures in pregnancy and early life are associated with childhood asthma incidence’ in World Allergy Organization Journal.

  • October 31, 2024 - It was a wonderful experience attending the 2024 American Public Health Association (APHA) Annual Meeting and Expo in Minneapolis, MN. There were excellent conversations and presentations on major public health issue affecting local communities and populations across the United States.

  • November 13, 2024 - We have added our third undergraduate research assistant. Welcome to the team, Kellen! Kellen will be contributing to a scoping review on using contaminated harmful algal bloom water for agricultural irrigation.

  • November 14, 2024 - Dr. Melaram presented his most recent work ‘The association of childhood allergic diseases with prenatal pollen exposure through at-birth DNA methylation’ for the first time at the Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi’s EPIC (Ethics, Professionalism, Innovation, Compliance) conference.
